Dhaka PC market, late September: the Core i9 is Tk 17,000 cheaper than in February, RAM is dearer, and the RTX 5080 has crossed Tk 1.9 lakh

A steady week with more customers in the shops, and a price list that has quietly moved since spring: Intel’s Core i9 14th gen is now Tk 55,000, the Core Ultra 9 285K tops the table at Tk 72,000, DDR4 memory has jumped, and the flagship graphics card is Tk 190,000. Full prices, and the trend that matters if you are about to build.

Dhaka PC market, late September: the Core i9 is Tk 17,000 cheaper than in February, RAM is dearer, and the RTX 5080 has crossed Tk 1.9 lakh

Nothing moved this week in Dhaka’s computer markets — the traders’ own summary — but customers are back in numbers after a quiet monsoon, and set against the list from February the numbers have moved a great deal. Processors are cheaper across the board; memory and storage are dearer; and the top of the graphics range has gone up again. The details, for anyone planning a build before the year-end exams.

The trend

Memory prices are rising worldwide as manufacturers shift capacity to the high-bandwidth chips AI servers use, and Dhaka feels it first because every stick is imported. CPUs are moving the other way as Intel clears 14th-gen stock ahead of new parts. The practical advice is the reverse of the usual: buy the RAM now, and the processor can wait.
