Students unhappy with the Higher Secondary Certificate results published on Saturday can ask for their answer scripts to be looked at again. Applications open on Sunday, 1 November and close on 7 November.
The Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has published the procedure, and the first thing in it is a restriction: no application will be accepted directly or manually. There is no counter to visit and no form to fill in at a college. Everything goes through one website.
The seven steps
The address is rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd. The sequence the board describes runs like this.
- Enter your examination roll number and registration number in the boxes provided.
- Choose your education board from the dropdown menu, then press Submit.
- Enter a mobile number. When the re-scrutiny result is published, it will be sent to this number by SMS.
- The next screen shows your result subject by subject. Select the one or more subjects you want re-checked and press ফি প্রদান করুন — Pay Fee.
- The following screen shows the total payable.
- Pay it through bKash, Nagad, Dutch-Bangla Bank’s Rocket, Upay or Sonali Seba. The detailed payment instructions sit behind the portal’s Help button.
- Return to the application portal and press জমা দিন — Submit. The application is complete only after this step.

The fee
The fee is Tk 150 for each paper. The word doing the work there is paper, not subject. Where a subject has two papers, the board says an application must be made for both of them — so a two-paper subject costs Tk 300, not Tk 150.
Changing your mind, and when you can no longer do it
There are two different rules here and the line between them is the payment.
Before you pay, a selection can be undone. Press মুছে ফেলুন — Delete — to withdraw subjects you have selected but not yet paid for, then choose different ones.
After you pay, nothing can be undone. The board states plainly that applied-for subjects cannot be cancelled once the fee has been submitted, and that the fee will not be returned under any circumstances.
Adding is easier than removing. If you have already submitted a paid application and then decide to include another subject, you can go through the same process again — and in that case you will not need to enter your mobile number a second time.
What the board has not said
The notice is detailed about how to pay and silent about what you are paying for. It does not state what is physically examined when a script is re-checked, and it does not give a date for when the re-scrutiny results will be published — only that they will arrive by SMS on the number you supply. Those gaps are worth knowing about before you spend the money, and we have looked at them separately.
The notice was issued over the signature of Professor Jesmin Taslima Banu, Controller of Examinations at the Dhaka board. Students under other boards should check their own board’s notice, because details can differ.
Checking that it went through
The step people miss is the last one. Paying the fee and submitting the application are two separate actions, and the money can move without the application existing. After the payment confirmation, go back to the portal and make sure you have pressed জমা দিন.
Keep the transaction reference your payment app gives you, and a screenshot of the submitted application. There is no printed receipt in this process and no counter to query, so your own record is the only evidence you will have if something needs to be sorted out before 7 November.
